If you know of anyone who lives in any of the areas mentioned below, or you think that this is inappropriate siting of windturbines, then please support by writing your reasons to the details as listed below

Email from SWAG ......... forwarded from VVASP

The planning application for 3 large wind turbines has been submitted by Wind Prospect Developments Ltd to Tewkesbury Borough Council.

THIS MAY CONCERN YOU - AND THEY NEED YOUR HELP!

A PLANNING APPLICATION HAS BEEN SUBMITTED TO TEWKESBURY BOROUGH COUNCIL FOR 3 WIND TURBINES IN THE FIELD BY HARBOUR WOOD

THEY ARE 126 METERS HIGH WITH A BLADE DIAMETER OF 92 METRES. 126 METRES IS 413 FEET. (THAT’S OVER 3 TIMES THE HEIGHT OF THE LARGE PLANE TREE ON TWYNING VILLAGE GREEN)

Anyone who lives on the north side of Twyning, Hillend Lane etc, Hill End Road, Hill End, The Oaks, Showborough House, The Manor, Brockeridge Farm, the east side of Ripple, Stratford Bridge, Ley Farm, Upper Strensham, Lower Strensham, Strensham Court Mews, Naunton and Ryall Grove will almost certainly be
IN DIRECT LINE OF SIGHT.

Hardly anyone would object to on-shore wind farms provided they are sympathetically sited away from habitation.
THESE CLEARLY ARE NOT!

And don’t forget , there is good evidence to suggest that if you can see them YOU CAN HEAR THEM.

THIS IS WHAT WIND PROSPECT SAY IN THEIR SUBMISSION:
Environmental Statement: Visual Impact. Quote ‘The assessment concludes that significant effects are only likely to be experienced out to 4.5 kilometres’.
Environmental Statement: Visual Impact: Landscape. Quote ‘With respect to landscape and visual impact, the ES concludes that significant landscape effects will be limited to the area within approximately 3 kilometres of the turbines, depending on visibility, and a small proportion of the Cotswolds AONB. Significant visual impacts will be experienced by a limited number of receptors within approximately 6 kilometres of the site’.
Environmental Statement: Quote ‘There will be no significant effects on the landscape character of the study area as a whole. The character and experience of the landscape would only be significantly affected within approximately 3 kilometres of the site, depending on visibility’.

WE ALL LIVE CLOSER THAN 3 KILOMETERS FROM THE NEAREST TURBINE, SO THE IMPACT WILL BE QUOTE ’SIGNIFICANT’

NOISE?

Don’t worry. Wind Prospect have commissioned a study which used guidelines that are out of date and relate to much smaller turbines, but they conclude:
Quote ‘In accordance with current guidelines, the assessment established an upper limit of 40 dB LA90, or the background LA90 + 5 dB, whichever is the greater, during amenity hours, and 43 dB LA90, or the background LA90 + 5 dB, whichever is the greater, at night time. The Hayes McKenzie Partnership assessment concluded that at all 53 locations the predicted turbine noise is within these limits’.

SO THAT’S ALRIGHT THEN – WE ARE GOING TO HEAR THEM, BUT IT’S WITHIN LIMITS!
BAFFLED – YOU SHOULD BE – THAT’S THE IDEA!
SO, WE ARE GOING TO HEAR THEM AND SEE THEM

WHAT DO WIND PROSPECT THINK OF THAT?

Quote ‘The RSK Environment Ltd landscape and visual impact assessment (LVIA) included in the Environmental Statement notes that any wind farm proposal in the UK will likely lead to some significant landscape and visual amenity impact. However, it goes on to say significant impacts are not necessarily adverse, and that adverse impacts are not necessarily unacceptable’.

YOU GET THE MESSAGE? – THEY DON’T CARE!!
